My Amazing Holiday Break!
Wow, I had such an awesome holiday break from school! I did so many fun things and had lots of adventures. I can't wait to tell you all about it!
The break started off with a bang on the last day of school before the holidays. We had a huge holiday party in my class and got to play games, eat treats, and swap small gifts with our classmates. I got a really cool pack of smelly stickers from Sarah which was an awesome present. Once the final bell rang, I raced out to meet my mom feeling so excited that the long break had finally arrived!
That first weekend, we went to visit my grandparents who live a few hours away. I always love going to their house because they have a huge backyard that's perfect for running around and playing games. My grandpa and I had an epic game of freeze tag that I totally won! My grandma made us her famous holiday cookies which are truly the most delicious things ever. I probably ate about a hundred of them over that weekend. Whoops! When we got back home, the first thing I did was make a long list of all the stuff I wanted to do over the break. At the very
top I wrote \"Go sledding!\" Since it had been snowing like crazy, there were perfect sledding hills everywhere you looked. My best friend Jamal and I spent almost every day that week bundled up and zooming down the biggest hills we could find on our sleds. We had sled races, crashed into huge piles of snow accidentally on purpose, and came inside for hot chocolate whenever we were totally frozen. Sledding is definitely one of the best parts of winter!
For Christmas, I got a brand new art set with about a million different colored pencils, paints, and other supplies for drawing and making crafts. I spent so much time drawing pictures and making homemade Christmas cards to give to my family. I even entered an art contest online and won a prize for one of my crayon drawings! I was so proud.
My mom signed me up for a holiday camp for a few days too so I could spend time with other kids my age. We did so many amazing activities like outdoor science experiments, indoor rock climbing, cooking classes where we made pizza from scratch, and even a super fun dance party on the last day. I made a bunch of new friends and didn't want the camp to end!
Another one of the highlights was going to see the new movie that just came out over the holidays. My dad took me and
some of my friends, and we got to eat tons of buttery popcorn while watching the film. The movie had some really hilarious parts that had us all cracking up in the theater. We hardly made it through some scenes without laughing so hard!
Of course, I also spent plenty of time just relaxing at home in my pajamas. I read through the new stack of books I got for Christmas, finally beat that one level of my video game that had been driving me crazy, and we had amazing family movie nights with pizza and snuggle time with our dog Rufus. My mom let me stay up way later than normal, which felt like such a fun treat. Before I knew it, it was already time to go back to school. I couldn't believe how quickly the break flew by! On the final day, my family and I spent the whole afternoon outside having an epic snowball fight. We split into two teams for an all-out battle, built snow forts to hide behind, and even made a few unlucky snow angels here and there. It was the perfect way to end such an awesome stretch of holiday fun.
I headed back to school the next day feeling refreshed and re-energized for a new term. I had gotten so much quality doddling around time, but had also stayed active with activities like sledding and snowball fights. Over the break, I made so many amazing new memories and spent time with my favorite
people. I can't wait for the next holiday break to arrive so I can make another mountain of new fun experiences! Here's to many more adventures to come.
