A monkey sitting on a branch of a tree saw what had happened between the two cats. He got an idea. He came down from the tree and walked up to the confused cats.

When a 20-year-old woman surnamed Zhao from Chengdu caught COVID-19 on Dec 8, she never thought her case would become famous. She is the granddaughter of an elderly couple who were confirmed (确诊) as patients the day before.
An official report from local health authorities (部门) showed that Zhao had been to several different parts of the city during the two weeks before she got her test results. They included a nail salon (美甲店), a park, and several restaurants and clubs, Xinhua reported.
COVID-19 patients’ travel history and surnames are sometimes made public without including other detailed personal information. This is done to find out who the patients have been in contact with and stop the spread of the virus.
However, in this case, much of Zhao’s personal information was leaked (泄露) online, including her name, ID card number, home address and photos. Personal attacks then came fast and furiously (猛烈地). Zhao got countless calls and text messages from strangers.
People also attacked her online. Some netizens questioned why the woman was having fun around town while her grandparents were in the hospital. Some even called her “the queen of clubbing”.
On Dec 9, the bureau said in a statement that they had identified a 24-year-old man surnamed Wang who leaked Zhao’s personal information. Wang received an “administrative punishment” for violating (侵犯) Zhao’s privacy (隐私), China Daily reported.
52. Which of the following is TRUE about Zhao?

A new rubbish sorting system (垃圾分类系统) has been put into use in Fangchengyuan Community in Beijing. Local people not only sort their rubbish, but also put QR codes (二维码) on it.
“When the rubbish is collected and the codes are scanned (扫描), I will get reward points to exchange for small gifts and even some money,” one of the local people told reporters. “It’s really creative and encouraging.”
This smart system has been carried out in 350 communities in Beijing. The capital of China has joined a list of cities in the country that take action to support rubbish sorting. For example, Shenzhen and Shanghai have made laws to punish
people and organization for not sorting rubbish correctly.
China produces quite a lot of rubbish every year. Much of the rubbish is buried (填埋) in soil or burned without being sorted. Landfills (填埋场) take up a lot of land and have a risk of polluting the soil and water nearby. And burning rubbish can produce harmful gases. Through rubbish sorting, we can reduce the use of landfills and air pollution.
What’s more, rubbish sorting saves resources, which could bring economic benefits (经济利益). For example, a ton of waste paper can be reused to make about 850kg of paper, saving 17 trees and 50 percent of water. Because of their benefits, some countries have developed successful sorting systems.
Japan has a strict and detailed system. When people throw away a water bottle, the cap, the wrapper and the bottle itself have to go into three different bins. Every year, families receive special rubbish sorting timetables and directions from their local governments. They are advised to follow the timetables and directions when they throw away rubbish.
In Australia, every family is provided with three rubbish bins---the red lid (盖子) bin for “general waste” like food and plastic bags, the yellow lid bin for “recycling” like steel and glass, and the green lid bin for “green waste” such as grass and leaves. On the streets, the bins are printed with pictures of the things that are allowed inside. It makes recycling quite easy.
56. What will local people probably get if they put daily rubbish into the new system in Fangchengyuan Community? A. A computer. C. A lot of money.
B. A car.
D. Some small gifts.
57. Which of the following is NOT the consequence (后果) of burying rubbish? A. Polluting soil.
B. Polluting water. D. Saving resources.
C. Taking up a lot of land.
58. Which paragraph discusses the economic benefits of rubbish sorting? A. Paragraph 3. C. Paragraph 5.
B. Paragraph 4. D. Paragraph 6.
59. In Australia, which bin should you put food left after dinner in? A. The red lid bin.
B. The yellow lid bin. D. The black lid bin.
C. The green lid bin.

World Sleep Day, observed on 21 March, was created to make people realize the growing number of sleep problems worldwide. Sleep is a natural part of human life, but many people in the modern world ignore (忽视) its importance. As a result, sleep problems are increasingly common.
In 2019, scientists at the University of Athens in Greece did a survey of over 35,000 people in 10 countries around the world, including China, Belgium and South Africa. According to the survey, 24 percent said that they found it hard to have a good sleep. And based on their responses, 31.6 percent were diagnosed (诊断) with insomnia (失眠) and another 17.5 percent were diagnosed with borderline insomnia. Besides, 30.7 percent reported visiting a doctor for help with sleep problems. And 11.6 percent said they had a feeling of needing sleep during the day.
The main causes leading to these problems are stress from school or work and a
fast pace of life. Noise pollution and light pollution also cause poor-quality sleep. The findings of the survey are worrying because large numbers of people can’t sleep well at night.
Overall, the survey showed that poor-quality sleep influences many people. Some can’t fall asleep and they often wake up in the middle of the night. If this happens for a long time, there is a possibility that sleepless people will get fatter and have a heart attack.
There are many things you can do to improve the quality of your sleep. First, you should have good sleep habits. Try to go to bed and wake up around the same time each day, You also need to make your bedroom a cool, dark and quiet place to sleep so that heat, light and noise do not disturb you. At night, you should also keep away from things with caffeine, such as chocolate, coffee, tea and many soft drinks, as caffeine may keep you from sleeping.
Getting a good night’s sleep is important for everyone. By following the advice above, you can rest better at night and work better during the day.
