摘要：A transverse flux machine (TFM) includes a stator assembly (42a) that provides aplurality of U-shaped magnetic circuits placed circumferentially around a rotor assembly.The plurality of U-shaped magnetic circuits are comprised of a first stator segment (58a),a second stator segment (60a), and a plurality of stator yokes (62a). The first statorsegment and the second stator segment each have a plurality of poles (80, 84) spacedaround a first circumference and a plurality of slots (82, 86) spaced around a secondcircumference opposite each of the plurality of poles. The plurality of stator yokes (62a)each have a first end sized to fit within one of the slots (82) associated with the firststator segment and a second end sized to fit in one of the slots (86) associated with thesecond stator segment. Positioning of the first and second ends of the stator yokeswithin the slots of the first and second stator segments, respectively, results in thecreation of the plurality of U-shaped magnetic circuits, each magnetic circuit defined byone of the plurality of poles (80) associated with the first stator segment, one of theyokes (62a), and one of the plurality of poles (84) associated with the second statorsegment.
