environment comprises transmitting to the turf light having an intensity substantially lessthan the intensity of full sunlight but not less than 20% thereof and having wavelengthsin the range of 4000-6000 A‹. Preferably the wavelengths are in the range 4375-5100 A‹.The required light may be obtained by placing a barrier between the sun rays and theturf the barriers comprising tinted or pigmented plastics material producing light having23%-77% of the intensity of sunlight.
