摘要：1. Process for the catalytic oxidation of phenols by oxygen in the presence ofcarbonate ions, characterised in that the oxidation reaction is conducted in an aqueousmedium in the presence of at least 6 moles of alkali carbonate per mole of phenol to beconverted, under oxygen pressure of between 0.1 and 2 megapascals, at a temperatureof between 80 and 200 degrees C, and in the presence of a catalyst in the form of salts orcomplexes of transition metals with polyvalent or monovalent nitrogen, oxygen, sulphuror phosphorus containing groups such as phthalocyanins, porphyrins, bis-salicylideneethylene diamine, utilised in a proportion of between 0.1 per thousand and 5% by weightof metal per weight of phenol, optionally deposited on a support.
