摘要：Described herein is a method of storing a biological sample, such as a spermsample, in an elongated container for cryopreservation. Multiple volumes of biologicalsample may be placed in each elongated container such that each volume of sample isseparated from its nearest neighbor by a separation gas. The present invention furtherrelates to an apparatus and method for loading biological samples, such as spermsamples, into an elongated container for cryopreservation of the sample material. Theapparatus and method employs drawing the sample into the elongated container suchthat individual sample volumes are interspaced by gaps of separation gas. Thisalternating pattern may be created by repeatedly contacting and removing theelongated container from the sample under suction pressure. The apparatus furtherincorporates the use of a computer to control the volume and number of aliquots asdesired. A container according to such methods is also provided.
