摘要：A data retrieval system includes a gateway server (101) and an access client(103). The gateway server (101) is communicatively connected to the access client (103)through a network (113). The gateway server (101) provides a presentation service (PS)and a real-time service (RTS) (117), which cooperate with the access client (103) to retrievedata from a data store (109) and then provide the retrieved data to a user's remotecommunication device (119). More particularly, when a user wishes to retrieve data fromthe data store (109) or to send data to the data store (109), the user establishes acommunication connection between his or her remote communication device (119) andthe gateway server (101), and then requests the desired data from the gateway server(101). In response, the gateway server (101) sends a command to the access client (103),instructing it to retrieve the requested data. The access client (103) retrieves the

requested data from the data store (109), and returns the retrieved data to the gatewayserver (101). The gateway server (101) then relays the requested information back to theuser's remote communication device (119).
