摘要:The invention relates to a method for the joint estimation of a multipathwireless channel and of the number of specular propagation paths present in the channelin a wireless transmission system with at least one transmitter and at least one receiver,with both the transmitter and the receiver being equipped with multiple sensingelements, the method comprising the steps of: a) Transmitting a training/probingsequence; b) Receiving and sampling the sequence; c) Defining L potential signal
components, parameterized with a set of parameters including a sparsity parameter thatparameterizes a prior probability density function (pdf) for the multipath component; d)
Jointly estimating the pdfs of all multipath component parameters and sparsity
parameters from c) by defining auxiliary (latent) variables for the subset of parameters ofa single component assuming the parameters of the other components fixed, andupdating the pdfs of the component parameters using the estimated admissible hiddendata; e) Evaluating developed pruning conditions to decide whether a component isremoved or kept; f) Repeating d) and e) for all L components, and repeating the
iterations anew until a set convergence criterion is complied with; g) Feeding the channelcomponents and their parameters to further processing.
