Well, to be honest, before I get the admission of the university, I have a narrow viewpoint about subjects. When I read a book published by Chinese educational authority, which aims at assisting potential college students to choose suitable major, I am surprise because it is the first time that I realize there are various subjects, such as literature, philosophy, immunology, anthropology and etc.

Because I’m hesitant in figuring out a suitable major for myself, I turn to my parents for a hand. At last, according to the high score I got in mathematical part of College Admission Test and some prizes I acquired in some math contests, my parents and I agree that I have a talent in this field, and therefore my major is decided.

As we all know, mathematics, to a majority of individuals, is a symbol of abstract, abstruse and logical things. I, however, partly agree with it. This subject has two main branches; one is Pure Math and the other is Applied Math. Pure Math is really complicated because it pays attention to the fundamental researches. But, Applied Math is mainly about using mathematical theorems and axioms to resolve daily problems.

Definitely yes, this major is pretty popular. Because, firstly, if you want to work directly when you graduate, you have various options, such as working in a bank or at school as a teacher. As for math-major students, working as a private tutor is a relative high salary part-time job. Also, if you have a plan to get a master or PH.D. degree, this major also enjoys its own advantages. Because, mathematics is a basic knowledge and every subject is based on it, compared with the peer in other majors, you can change your major with few restrictions. I mean, you can choose math in undergraduate programsand change to economy or computer science in postgraduate programs. There are numerous evidences support it, however, I guess the two I have mentioned are the most significant ones.

Well, my hometown is Jianghan Oil Field located at the south of Wuhan province. Unlike Hangzhou, which enjoys plenty of culture relics and profound cultural deposits, my hometown is more like countryside. As you know, petroleum is the fundamental resource and in China, this transaction is monopoly. As a result, welfare is ample and utilities are available almost every community. Thanks to the local authority, residents here live in a relative low tempo of life.

To be honest, I live in a flat. You know, in China we have a large population, however the earth’s area is limited. Living in a flat is a sensible and economic choice. My flat is 121 square meters and because of 4 big windows, the living room is bright in daytime. Study room, personally, is the most fantastic, because computer is put there. Every summer vacation, I constantly lock myself in this room, you know I’m a nut of online games, and fortunately, the air conditioner can help me to fight with the boiling weather.

Well, actually, most of the Chinese names have its own meaning. According to our custom, a name will affect a person’s personality. A good name, to some extent, can make the individual more successful in the future or easier to success. As for me, my name is Hongyu, Chen. Chen is my family name, Hong means a small pool and Yu is stand for cosmos. My parents give this name to me, because they want me healthy and hope that I can fulfill my potential.

To be honest, I have changed my name when I am going to be a secondary school student. The reason why my forks make this decision is ridicules. You know, there are numerous websites, which aim at anticipating your fate depending on your name and the date you born. After getting a low score in this kind of test, my mum bought several books, which about how to make a perfect name for your kid, and finally my name has been changed.

Now, children are much higher than before, because they eat more greasy fast food and genetically modified food. Also, owing to the high-tech knowledge products, such as iPad or iPhone and the available wire-less internet hot point, contemporary children can get data everywhere and anytime. It is pretty convenient andawesome. Accordingly, they know much than children known ten years ago.

Unlike any other guys in my age, I am not good at sports. Compared with perspiring on the gym, I prefer to have a nap in the library. However, if I must talk about it, I want to say swimming is my favorite. I guess it has something to do with my constellation. You know, I am Pisces. Touching with water makes me comfortable. Also, as we know, swimming can practice every part of your body equally. Well, you know, other sports, like badminton always strengths the muscle in your arm more.

At the end of every year I will go to shopping mall and buy clothes, because in our culture you should wear new garment at the beginning of a new year, otherwise you may encounter misfortunes in the following year.

In terms of the type of clothes, Iprefer casual clothes, because this kind of clothes is more lax. You know, when I choose clothes, “is this one suitable or comfortable” is the first question I should solve. Furthermore, compared with uniforms, causal clothes also make me look younger. Admitting that I am getting old is the last thing I want to do, although I am an adolescent.

Well, I have never attended a concert. I guess there are three main reasons. Firstly, concert always held in city center, which is far from my university. My enthusiasm can be eroded by the horrible traffic congestion. Also, the ticket fee is sky-high, so it is a luxury to me. Finally, Iprefer to enjoy a tranquil atmosphere, however the site of the concert is filled with audiences’ applause and exclamation. Obviously, it is noisy.

To be honest, my leisure time is occupied by computer games entirely, so I seldom watch TV. But I really watch some online videos about TV programmes. My favorite one is call Happy Camp. This is a comprehensive programme. Like its name, the show aims at entertaining all the audiences, using dialects and some simple but popular games. The reason why I adore this programme is that the presideris humorous and watching this show can curtail the gulf between my favorite stars and me.

Personally, it depends. To framers, pets are their family members and can guard the house when the host isn’t at home. However in urban area, people treat pets as their friends.Because of the one-child policy and indifferentmetropolis, residents can be easily frustrated and feel lonely. Pets can accompany them. You know some pets are pretty cute and clever, like husky and poodle. They can bring happy mood to their master.

Frankly, neither. I don’t want to share this day with my family members because of the generation gap. If I spend this day with my friends, we may just enjoy a dinner and go to Internet bar or KTV. It is meaningless and too simply. Iprefer to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriend, if I have one. I think it is a good event can help each other to memory the time we passed together. You know, one year, two years…and a birthday can express that you, my honey, witness my growth. I guess it’s romantic.

Science contributes to our daily life amply.To name a few, physics help us figure out how things work, astronomy unveils the mystery of the universe, chemistry provides us with more nutritional capsules and genetics opens alternative ways for curing diseases. So you see, it is essential to our human beings.

In terms of leisure activities, there is gap between different genders. Males，personally, prefer to hang out with friend, do some sports or play online games. On the contrary, most females are like to read some recipes andpractice their cooking skills. In addition,some of them may attend a yoga program, in order to keep fit.

Well, detective film is my favorite. You know, my major is mathematics, so any logical things can stir me up easily. Maybe, it is because I have devoted myself in math kingdom for a long period, there must exist some elements related to cogent things in my blood.

Well, personally, to be happiness means you can get what you really need, not what you want. You know, god creates our human beings, so in our heart there is a part, which is left for lord. Unfortunately, few of us realize it. We try our best to get many dispensable things like a high position or a good salary instead of opening our heart to the god. As a result, no matter how many things we get, we always feel vacant. It likes that gloves are designed for hand. You cannot put it on your head, although you can do it, when your head is small. There must exist interspace, because it is not suitable.

Depending on the different personalities between males and females. I suppose that males are more suitable to be executors. As we all know, females always more emotional and hesitated, which is the taboo of executive officers. Also, the month period and pregnane can distract their concentration. The most significant fact is that overwhelming pressure can impair females’ healthy deeply.

It is a small statue, a blank elephant with long ivories. A friend of mine came to Thailand as an exchange student and took this for me as a gift. This statue is made of rubber. Because elephant is the mascot of Thailand, so this item represents best wishes. I put it at the corner of my desktop and, you know, today I pray in front of this statue and hope that I can perform well in the IELTS examination.
