Abstract:

In the rapid development of internet media, the democratic of the majority of citizens grow stronger and stronger. News comments as an effective form that people can express their views directly is thought highly by media. How to define news comments, this paper put forward its own views. And according to the definition, it put forward the fundamental characteristics of news comments: rely on the news fact, the timeliness of transmission, the theoretical comments, the ideological intension, the usefulness of disseminative knowledge.

I．The new definition of news comments

What is the feature of news comments? It’s the concerns by news comments researchers all the time. Naturally it has never been unified. The benevolent see benevolence and the wise see wisdom. However I think it’s good for us to understand its development, change process and identify differences. News comments feature is created by news comments definition.

The original \"People's Daily\" Mr. Fan Rongkang deputy editor said: \"The news comments is the news reports on the day or recent, or information has not yet hit the newspapers but is the significant fact, published a political tendency to readers as the object of commentary. \"⑴

In March 1996 issue of \"Practical Dictionary of Chinese news\" is stated as: \"The news comments are a kind of news literary form that the news media or the writer can explain their own point or position of views about the recent events, nowadays social life phenomena or ideological orientation and the issues of common concern to.”

In 2002, Mr. Ding Fazhang published a new version of \"News Review Guide\" in the definition given that: News comments is a kind of news literary form that media newsroom or authors can make the discussion or set forth about the newly, the valuably, the generally pressing issues. And it also has distinctive pertinence and

guidance. The news comments are the floorboard included a lot of tools modern news media frequently used. Such as editorial, comments, commentators articles, brief comments, editor's note, opinion columns, review, and so on.⑵

Time is in the development, especially after the rapid development of internet media. Can we make a new definition of news comments? News comments is a kind of comment form that people can borrow the mass communication tools or carrier to express their views of the newly happening facts, issues and phenomena’s comments have different forms in the newspaper, adios, television and internet. It can be the text, or sound, or audio-visual combination, or illustrations. And it plays an important role in news media.

This paper’s definition is defined in two ways. First, focus on the content of news comments what is the difference between news comments and other news forms, the productive process of news comments, the content requirement of news comments; second, from the extension instructions of news comments what is point out how many forms of news comments in nowadays. Extension is created by intension. But this creation should be emphasized in nowadays new situation. Conclusion, in this definition, the content of news comments and the extension instruction communicate with one another. Not a single one can be omitted.

II. What are the fundamental features of news comments

Because of the different definitions of news comments, these are a lot of different understanding of the news comments features. Fan Rongkang: \"News

Look at all above argument on news comments features; we can find that because being affected by the time, being affected of their own media work, their views and understanding. The so-called news comments features, in fact, is identify the natural difference between it and other news forms or the place needs to special emphasis. This feature should be talked about on news comments’ general and wide form instead only talking about the feature of editorial published in party organ or commentator’s article; this feature should be talked about the universality of news comments’ thesis instead just giving a commentator’s article with a heavily political. Many published news comments should named \"party newspaper editorials, news commentary” in the strict sense. Because they are mainly for the party newspaper comments and discussion, for other media, especially for public

comments, they are talked less. This paper is to emphasize a wide range of news comments, both including the party newspaper's editorial comments and other media, also including the media comments and the public individual comments. Thus, the news comments features engender.

In these features, I think two of them can’t be the general news comments. One is political, the other is guiding. Of course, these is no doubt that the editorials and commentator's article of the party newspaper and mainstream media also should emphasize the political and guidance. This is another problem area.

In summary, whatever look from the news comments’ content of political, economic, social, cultural, educational, life, internal and external, or the news comments’ transmission form of newspapers, radio, television and internet, I think news comments features can be summarized as following points: the news worthiness rely on the fact, timeliness transmission, the theoretical commentary, the ideological content, the usefulness of the disseminative knowledge. The meaning of news comments is to comment the fact of news worthiness in article. And this is the basic attribute that can distinguish between literature and theoretical research.

(二) the timeliness transmission of news comments

In short, in this knowledgeable age, news comments should be more careful when it pick up the knowledgeable examples. The power of knowledge is huge and the huge power is directed. News comments should pick up the knowledge arguments that benefit the public and society. And at the same time, news comments should enhance its accomplishment of knowledge.
