摘要：A catheter guide wire includes a strip of material formed into an elongate coil,with a central hollow having a plurality of windings. The windings include inhibitingfeatures to inhibit relative rotation of adjacent windings. A central wire core is insertedthrough the hollow of the coil and welded to some of the windings to keep them fromseparating longitudinally. This construction allows for lateral flexibility of the guide wire,but with desired torsional stiffness.
