——论肖伯纳《卖花女》中伊莉莎的成长

摘 要

乔治·肖伯纳是20世纪英国戏剧史上公认的继莎士比亚之后的伟大剧作家。他一生创作戏剧五十多部，其中最为出名的是他的社会问题剧和喜剧。《卖花女》创作于1912年，1913年登上舞台与公众见面。此后，又被改编成电影和音乐剧《窈窕淑女》，一直深受大众喜爱。本论文首先讲述的是该剧中女主人公伊莉莎的外在蜕变和内在觉醒，接着从外在环境因素和伊莉莎个人性格出发，分析她成长的原因。最后，进一步论述剧作家创作本剧的目的和背景，进一步加深读者对作品主题的理解。

Transformation and Disillusionment

– On the Growth of Eliza in Pygmalion Abstracts

George Bernard Shaw is usually considered to be the greatest playwright in the English language since Shakespeare. In his life career, Shaw wrote more than fifty plays, of which his social problem plays and comedies are famous. Shaw wrote

Pygmalion in 1912. It is first performed in 1913. Later, it is adapted into film and

the musical play My Fair Lady. Pygmalion helps secure Shaw’s success as a popular playwright. This thesis gives a full display of Eliza’s growth in her outer transformation and inner disillusionment. Then the following part is to explore causes that account for Eliza’s change from the angle of the surrounding factors and Eliza’s own character. In the last part, Shaw’s aim in his creation of the play is discussed, so that readers can have a better understanding of its theme.
